AdventNet Upgrades ADManager Plus With Live Communication Server Support

Updated to Support Bulk Configuration of Live Communications Server Attribute in Active Directory
PLEASANTON, California, August 28, 2007

AdventNet Inc., the leading provider of enterprise IT management software today announced the inclusion of an important feature to its ManageEngine ADManager Plus, an active directory management and reporting software, to configure Live Communication Server attributes for all or qualified users in the Active Directory, from its web- based console.

Microsoft Office Live Communication Server is a manageable and extensible instant messaging server (IMS) that provides a real-time collaboration solution. It enables corporations to reach, collaborate, and respond to information more quickly as compared to telephones and e-mail. Enterprises today realize the need for LCS and want to implement them immediately, but to configure LCS into one's Active Directory with the traditional command line tools and scripts is cumbersome, error prone and time consuming.

ADManager Plus understands the need and also the difficulty faced by an administrator in configuring Live Communication Server attributes into his Active Directory. This release is a major step in the direction of addressing these difficulties. With ADManager Plus the Administrator can configure various LCS attributes along with other attributes like General, Contact, Exchange Server, Terminal Services and Custom attributes within minutes. Some of the LCS settings with ADManager Plus include Federation, Archiving, and Remote Control using an intuitive web-based user interface. Using pre-defined templates, administrator can apply the configured settings to single or bulk users by applying the easy to use CSV import feature.

"The bottleneck I was facing in changing the user home directories was resolved quicker than I thought it would and with very little administrative effort. We have used the reports of ADManager Plus on numerous occasions, from notifying users of expired passwords to finding out which computers were no longer being used or which computers had been renamed but Active Directory still had the old computer name stored, it has helped us cleanup Active Directory with ease. I am very impressed by this product and would highly recommend it to any organization of any size. This is a product you can't go wrong with," said Masood Darr, Help Desk Coordinator, Bruce Edmeades Co. a satisfied customer.
